Sound is the soul of an opera house. An opera house is like a musical instrument, and its form will greatly determine the quality of music people hear in it.
Known as "Shanghai Music Landmark", the Opera House of Shanghai Conservatory of Music is also the first truly professional opera house in Shanghai, which was created by French Pritzker Prize winner Christian de Buzamback. The building area is 31,926 ㎡, with 3 floors underground and 5 floors above ground. It consists of an opera hall with 1,200 seats, four rehearsal classrooms for opera, orchestra, chorus and folk music, and a professional academic lecture hall.
It is affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music, a well-known art school in China, and is located at the junction of Fenyang Road, Huaihai Road in the center of Shanghai. Acoustic Analysis
The location of the Opera House of Shanghai Conservatory of Music is only about 15 meters away from the nearest subway line 1. Eliminating the vibration and noise of the subway is the first problem to be solved. The school requires the Opera House not only to perform classical western operas with high language clarity and short reverberation, but also to perform romantic operas with lyrical characteristics and longer reverberation time, as well as other performance or meeting conditions with different reverberation time requirements.
In order to make the Shanghai Conservatory of Music Opera House bring the best sound quality to the audience, Baozanbak has cooperated closely with professional acoustic institutions and enterprises. Boldly put the whole audience hall and stage area on more than 100 sets of springs, which almost completely isolated the vibration and noise of the subway. The Opera House of Shanghai Conservatory of Music is also the first fully suspended opera house built in China by using integral vibration isolation technology.
Acoustics are everywhere in the theater. Opera hall
Materials used: arc natural red oak veneer (orchestra pit), natural red oak veneer slotted sound-absorbing board (orchestra pit back wall), cherry solid wood cover board (platform pick-up in audience hall), and cherry wood veneer hanging board (on the river side of the barrier).
The theater adopts horseshoe-shaped classical style design, so that the audience will not feel too far away from the stage even on the third floor; Layers of buildings block the river, shouldering the acoustic anti-sound function; There is a variable sound absorption device in the side wall of the diamond-shaped perforated plate in the audience hall. The unique lifting ceiling is actually an acoustic anti-sound plate, which can be lifted according to different performance needs to change the volume of the audience hall, thus changing the reverberation time.
Deep aesthetic feeling, noble posture, flashing bright light, high space induce the positive emotions of the audience, while the texture of solid wood makes people feel warm. Music creates a three-dimensional emotional expression in the free flowing air of the theater.

Materials used: large MLS acoustic diffuser, Akebia, curved wood veneer.
The oversize MLS(Maximum Length Sequence) diffuser in the rehearsal hall is a product pioneered by WINEGO Industry, and each board needs to be accurately positioned. The staggered groove design has a great sense of design, and at the same time, it can make the primary sound reflection evenly distributed throughout the pool seat, making the whole theater full of sound quality, clear and three-dimensional, and immerse the audience.
Lecture Hall
Materials used: natural red oak decorative slotted sound-absorbing board, Fraxinus mandshurica decorative slotted sound-absorbing board, Akebia, natural red oak decorative board, A-class fireproof Fraxinus mandshurica decorative skirting.
The wall of the lecture hall adopts slotted sound-absorbing board and diamond-shaped perforated board, and sound-absorbing cotton is filled behind the diamond-shaped perforated board and between the walls to effectively absorb direct sound, control the reverberation time in the hall and make the language clearer.
Public area
Materials used: strip wood veneer, arc wood veneer, U-shaped lamp trough.
The two towering columns in the lobby on the first floor are magnificent, symmetrical but different in shape from a distance, and full of smart design sense; Close up, the color is uniform, and there are no nail holes and defects.
In order to isolate the noise transmitted by air and solid around, the theater adopts the structure of "box in box", that is, there is an outer wall outside the inner wall. There is a cavity between the two walls to enhance the sound insulation ability of the walls, and the outer wall is constructed with different materials and structures according to different positions and sound insulation needs.
The construction of exterior wall decorative panels all uses the traditional tenon-mortise structure in China, and the mature arc technology of WINEGO, without using a nail, the joints are hard to detect. The large wall, which is continuous, color-free and nail-eyed, makes the theater more magnificent.
